At the beginning of the confinement due to the 2020 pandemic, those of us who were able to do so moved our jobs to the web.
That led me to rediscover an event that seems unique to me since I started working in teaching, the gathering of a group of people in a place and time with their energies and intelligence focused on achieving knowledge. The question then was how to connect collectively even from telepresence?
This is how the activity of painting masks arose to discover the effects of the experience of telecommunication via video chat and the strangeness of only perceiving images of others and of ourselves. The awareness achieved was intense, I immediately made photomontages to visualize the faces, I gathered them on a panel so that the group could be read as such even from a distance and I made self-portraits that condense the perception of my body in telepresence communication.
The flow of thoughts and actions that occur between people when they come together to learn is an event in itself and can take particular forms in group telecommunication.
A principio del confinamiento por la pandemia del 2020 , quienes pudimos hacerlo, mudamos nuestros trabajos a la web.
Eso me llevó a redescubrir un evento que me parece único desde que comencé a trabajar en docencia, la reunión de un grupo de personas en un lugar y tiempo con sus energías e inteligencia enfocadas en lograr conocimientos. Puede parecer una obviedad pero si desinstitucionalizamos esta circunstancia es un hecho importante. La pregunta fue entonces ¿cómo conectarnos colectivamente aún desde la telepresencia?
Así surgió la actividad de pintarnos máscaras para descubrir los efectos de la experiencia de la telecomunicación por video chat y el extrañamiento de solo percibir imágenes de los otros y de nosotros. Fue intensa la conciencia lograda , inmediatamente realicé fotomontajes para visualizar los rostros, los reuní en un panel para que el grupo se lea como tal aún a la distancia y realicé autorretratos que condensan la percepción de mi cuerpo en la comunicación por telepresencia.
El flujo de pensamientos y acciones que se dan entre las personas cuando se reunen para aprender es un evento en sí mismo y puede tomar formas particulares en la telecomunicación grupal
